Welcome to the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, welcome to the world of higher university education! I cordially greet you on behalf of all employees of the Faculty and the University of Rijeka. We are glad that you share our vision to be leaders in higher education, scientific and professional research in Croatia and the wider region. To be a leader means to be the best and we can only do that together - both students and staff of the Faculty, in a common pursuit of excellence!
You are members of a generation that will play a crucial role in the transformation of tourism and hospitality in Croatia and Europe, and your excellence is a guarantee of a common quality of life in Europe. More than 60 doctors of science will guide you through your studies and support your professional development.
Our Faculty is a creator of knowledge about tourism, hospitality and sustainable development. We are focused on excellence that allows you to take leadership positions in this global world, through high quality education. By collaborating with the economy, the public sector and civil society, we create the ability to adapt and respond to today's challenges. We encourage you to innovate and be creative, but with the principles of ethics and social responsibility.
We hope for the soon recovery of tourism because every crisis should be seen as a challenge, so in the time ahead we should discover new opportunities for the development of responsible and sustainable tourism, and offer new, authentic stories and build innovative tourism products throughout the year. Tourism in Croatia needs staff who, in addition to professional and digital competencies, will also possess emotional intelligence, staff who will know foreign languages, work effectively in different teams, be creative, innovative, be able to think critically and analytically, judge ethically and above all be socially responsible in order for tourism in Croatia to become sustainable, smart and responsible. These are exactly the competencies, skills and knowledge that we will develop together.
