What is an e-mail account?

An E-mail account is used for sending and receiving email messages via Internet. CARNet makes it possible for students, employees and associates of the Faculty to open an e-mail account on the Faculty server (fthm.hr). 

Why should I use this e-mail account?

An e-mail account opened at the Faculty will become your official account and it also means that when you communicate on the internet you will be recognized as a member of the Croatian Academic and Research Network, i.e. the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, which adds importance to the message you are trying to convey.

Once you have opened your account, you will receive an e-mail that will correspond to the following form: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

How to use an email account at the Faculty?

  • Use Webmail! The simplest (from any computer) via the Web go to the following address: http://www.fthm.uniri.hr/, click on the icon Mail and enter your login (only the first part of an email address) and a password, and follow the instructions on the screen for writing and reading messages, or
  • Use one of the programs for an email (e.g. Outlook) where it is required to enter, besides the information about your email account, also settings and the following information about the servers:
POP3 server: hotel.fthm.hr
SMTP server: hotel.fthm.hr
Turn on the option: My server requires authentication

I have a faculty e-mail, but I have forgotten my password. How can I get a new one?

If you can, send an e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. containing your login, as well as your name and surname. Otherwise come to the PC Suite (next to the main Faculty building) and contact the administrator, and you will receive a new password.

What is an electronic identity in the AAI@EduHr ?

AAI@EduHr is a system of electronic identities which provides to its users a unique authentification and authorization on several CARNet servers. More information about this can be found on the CARNet website http://www.aaiedu.hr/ . Some of the CARNet services that you can use with your AAI@EduHr identity:

  • Mobile CARNet services (via mobile operators, such as VIPNet, TELE2 and TMobile)
  • ADSL (Iskon, Optima, MetroNet)
  • CARNet online courses
  • Rijeka Academic Download (download of Microsoft software)
  • Access to some online databases
  • Access to Distance Learning System

How long is my electronic identity valid?

The AAI@EduHr electronic identity is valid until October 31st. If you are still a student at the Faculty you should extend the validity of your electronic identity every year between October 1st-31st. 

How can I change my electronic identity password?

  • go to the website www.uniri.hr/ldap
  • click on "Ažuriranje podataka (za korisnike)" – Update information (for users)
  • enter your username (just the first part before "@fthm.hr", because "@fthm.hr" should already be written on the screen)
  • enter your electronic identity password
  • Click on "Promjena zaporke" (Change password)
