The 25-year tradition of the Lifelong Learning Programme Seminar for Tour Guides at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management continued in the academic year 2022/2023.

Since 1997, the quality of the lectures and practical experience have shaped the training of tour guides. Professors from the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, the Faculty of Philosophy in Rijeka, the Ministry of Tourism, UHPA (Association of Croatian Travel Agencies), the Association of Tourist Guides and others are involved in the implementation of the programme.

This seminar remains the hallmark of our Faculty's lifelong accredited programme, which is updated with additional content to follow market trends. This year, 23 participants successfully completed the programme and received a licence. They had the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a field course under the guidance of long-time tour guide Nikola Špehar.

A celebratory event took place on 30 March 2023 at 16:00 in the premises of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management. The event included a social gathering and an address by Assistant Professor Romana Lekić, Ph.D., who highlighted the importance of the tour guide's role as ambassador, information provider, knowledge source, mentor, teacher, host and motivator.

After the official part, participants and guests were able to meet with the Faculty's Vice- Dean for Business Relations, Associate Professor Elena Rudan, Ph.D., the Head of the Seminar Tourist Guide programme Alenka Šuljić Petrc, Ph.D., and Programme Secretary Jasna Lasinger Silađev, mag.oec.
