At the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management in Ika the ELESS 2018 - European Law and Economy Summer School was held from July 9th to 13th, 2018, organized by the Faculty of Law of the University of Rijeka and the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management with the support of the Hanns-Seidel Summer School Foundation.

The school was devoted to various topics of European integration and aimed at students in the field of social and human sciences (law, economics, politics, philosophy). Lectures were held by more than twenty practitioners and professors from the University.

A special guest was prof. Ph.D. Vesna Tomljenovic, a judge from the EU General Court. In a stimulating environment, with innovative learning methods and multidisciplinary approach, students from different European countries had the opportunity to expand their knowledge and competences in the legal and socio-economic aspects of the European Union's functioning. The summer school took place in English and among the students from the Republic of Croatia, the students from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia and Italy participated in it.

 Prof. Ph.D. Snježana Prijić-Samaržija, rector of the University of Rijeka, prof. Ph.D. Vesna Crnić-Grotić, dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Rijeka and prof. Ph.D. Dora Smolčić-Jurdana, dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management at the University of Rijeka participatd in the opening ceremony.
