Scope of the work, basic activities, etc.:

Members of the department of finance act in scientific and teaching work in the fields of Financial Management, Financial Efficiency of Development Program, Cost Benefit Analysis, Monetary Economy, Financial Markets and Institutions, Risk Management, Corporate Finance Management and International Project Financing. The scientific activity of the Department is reflected through active participation, as a team leader and member of research teams, on the University of Rijeka's scientific projects, and active participation in professional projects carried by the Faculty.

The main objective of the department is to provide specific competences in the field of finance at all levels of study qualifications that are offered by the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management in Opatija. The mission of the department is to provide theoretical knowledge in the field of finance, to develop specific financial management skills, and ultimately to make students able to carry out independent and responsible management and decision-making actions in practice.

Financial contents are studied at the undergraduate level, graduate level and the doctoral level. The experts from the real sector are regularly involved in realization of teaching activities. They demonstrate practical application of finance in the real sector. The members of this Department are active in teaching the following courses:
