The activities of the Department are teaching and scientific / professional. The following courses are organized within the Department: Communication in the organization (2nd year of professional study, compulsory subject of business communication), Business communication (graduate study, mandatory subject of management in hotel industry), corporate communication (elective course, postgraduate scientific study Management in Contemporary hotel business), Corporate Communications (elective course, new program of doctoral studies Business Economics in Tourism and Hospitality Industry).

Scientific research within the Business Communications Department is focused on three areas:

  • organization discourse
  • (socio) linguistic aspects of communication in management
  • tourism discourse.

In these three segments of the study, the Department of business communication is actively involved in the international exchange of knowledge through articles published in quoted journals, books published in Croatia and abroad, and participation in domestic and international scientific / professional conferences as presenters, guest lecturers and leaders section.

The importance of the members of the Department derives from its field of activity, and this is in the widest sense business communication that has a very important role in tourism business.
