The research area of the Department for Logistics and Tourism Resources is:
- study and application of logistic systems,
- space and resources in the space used by tourism.
The Chair actively participates in all the activities of the Faculty. Its primary activities are related to the scientific, research, professional and teaching activities of members in the field of the Department's activities. Scientific activity is based on the guidance and participation in scientific projects of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of Croatia. Members of the Department publish scientific papers and participate in scientific congresses and conferences abroad and in the Republic of Croatia. In their papers they scientifically research:
- traffic and logistics in raising the quality of tourism products,
- geographic background and ecological potentials in shaping tourist offer,
- different aspects of maritime law and tourism rights.
The members of the Department actively participate in the Faculty's professional projects. The relevance of the Department members derives from the field of action of members, who, although acting in very diverse fields of science, contribute to the enrichment of scientific, professional and teaching work in the field of tourism. The results of the research by the members of the Department contribute to the enrichment of the interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary nature of tourism. For this reason, the Department should strive to interact with other departments within and outside the Institute for multidisciplinary areas.
