The Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management systematically offers  to the market those lifelong learning programs that accept the real demands of the economy and the community. The seminars for tourist guides and office managers have the longest tradition of 20 years, actually since 1997.

After a completed and passed professional exam, a participant of the seminar for tourist guides recives a certificate from the Faculty which entitles him to become a  professional tourist guide for Primorsko-Goranska area, Ličko-Senjska and Istarska County for the languages used to pass the exam.

From the beginnings of the tourist guides seminars at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, special emphasis has been placed on the quality of lectures and presentation of practical experiences. For this reason, a number of professors from the Faculty of Management in Tourism and Hospitality, the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Philosophy in Rijeka, and experts from the State Archives of Rijeka, the Ministry of Tourism, UHPA, Tourist Guides Association and others have been involved in the lectures.

The seminar for tourist guides will be held in line with the new Act on the Provision of Tourism Services (Official Gazette 130/17). Based on the new Act on the Provision of Tourism Services, a new Book of Regulations regarding the Professional Examination for Tourist Guides is expected to be presented by the Ministry of Tourism. Following the adoption of the new Book of Regulations and in accordance with its provisions, the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management is planning to hold a new cycle of seminars for tourist guides.
