The Forum of Sustainable Gastronomy was held at FMTU

On June 27, 2022, a round table of the Forum of Sustainable Gastronomy was held at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management in Opatija.
The round table was jointly organized by Liburnia Riviera Hotels d.d., the Kvarner Tourist Board, the Žmergo Association and the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management in Opatija.
The following panelists discussed the topic of sustainable gastronomy and the advantages of using organically grown, seasonal and local food in food preparation, as well as the importance of promoting and educating about sustainable gastronomy: Irena Peršić Živadinov from the Kvarner Tourist Board, Domijan Mršić from Liburnia Riviera Hotel d.d., Greta Krešić and Slobodan Ivanović from the Faculty of Management in Tourism and Hospitality, Helena Traub from the Žmergo Association, Zdravko Tomšić - chef consultant and Mladen Brajan from the Administrative Department for Tourism, Entrepreneurship and Rural Development of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.
An interesting panel discussion was chaired by Edi Prodan, a journalist from Novi list d.d.
FTHM received the status of the international FEE EcoCampus and was awarded with the Green Flag

On Tuesday, June 21, a ceremonial raising of the Green Flag took place at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management in front of students and guests of honor. The Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management has acquired the status of an international FEE EcoCampus (Foundation for Environmental Education). The international award and the Green Flag are given for achievements in the field of environmental protection, and FTHM is the first institution of the University of Rijeka to receive this distinction.
The meeting was opened by Dean Professor Sandra Janković, Ph.D., who thanked the members of the Environmental Committee, students, faculty and external members, the Žmergo Association and the City of Opatija for their involvement in numerous activities. The Vice Mayor of the City of Opatija, Kristina Đukić, congratulated the Faculty on the recognition and expressed her satisfaction that students are applying their knowledge of sustainable development in practice. The Vice Rector for Digitalization and Development of the University of Rijeka, Professor Senka Maćešić, Ph.D., emphasized that the University promotes the Sustainable Development Goals, that each component has its own officer and that one of the officers for the SDG goals at FTHM Professor Marinela Krstinić Nižić, Ph.D., thus proved that the planned environmental and social goals can be achieved for the benefit of the entire community. The green flag was raised by the student members of the Environmental Committee.

Ceremonial promotion of the participants of the Lifelong Learning Program "Camping Resort Management"

On May 27, 2022 at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management Management of the University of Rijeka the promotion of the 6th generation of participants of the "MKR Program" was celebrated under the leadership of professor Josipa Cvelić Bonifačić, Ph.D., program manager and expert team of staff.
The Dean of the Faculty, professor Sandra Janković, Ph.D., the representative of the Croatian Tourist Board, Mr. Jure Galić and the representative of the Kvarner Tourist Board, Mrs. Marica Mogorović.
The ceremony was also attended by businessmen and representatives of the Croatian Camping Association, which for years has awarded a special prize to the best participant of the program. This year's winner is Mr. Igor Černigoj from Valamar Riviera d.d.

On April 29 and 30, 2022, a ceremonial promotion of graduates of the Faculty of Management in Tourism and Hospitality of the University of Rijeka took place.
Contracts on financing student projects in 2022 signed

On April 8, at the University of Rijeka, the ceremonial signing of the contract for the financing of student projects in 2022, realised on the basis of the competition of the Student Union of the University, took place.
In addition to the representatives of student organisations, student groups and individual students, the Rector of the University and the Deans of the individual faculties were also present at the signing ceremony.
The Student Union of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management requested and provided funding for four projects: Split the week conference, Hotel Ball 2022, MEKST and Wave for tourism student conference.
