As part of the activities aimed at promoting mobility and internationalization, the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management organized the "INTERNATIONAL WEEK AT FACULTY OF TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT, UNIVERSITY OF RIJEKA, CROATIA" from 13.05. - 17.05.2019.
The International week's opening address was conducted by the Dean Dora Smolčić Jurdana, Ph.D., Full Professor and Vice Dean for International Affairs Kristina Črnjar, Ph.D., Associate Professor, who introduced participants to the specific activities carried out by the University and the Faculty as part of internationalization. Helga Maškarin Ribarić, Ph.D., Full Professor, Vice Dean for Science and Professional Activities presented the research and project activities of the Faculty. As part of the International Week, Kristina Črnjar, CEEPUS Coordinator, held a presentation on "Studying, Learning and Researching in the Central European Universities through the CEEPUS Mobility Program" with the aim of informing students about the possibilities of studying at the partner institutions in Europe. At the end of the week, teachers and students participated in the 5th scientific conference "Tourism in Southern and Eastern Europe - Creating Innovative Tourism Experiences - the Way to Extend the Tourist Season" organized by the Faculty.
International students participation in the celebration of World Tourism Day 2018

World Tourism Day, celebrated every 27 September around the world, is a unique opportunity to raise awareness on tourism’s actual and potential contribution to sustainable development. The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) is the United Nations agency responsible for the promotion of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism. As the leading international organization in the field of tourism, UNWTO promotes tourism as a driver of economic growth, inclusive development and environmental sustainability and offers leadership and support to the sector in advancing knowledge and tourism policies worldwide. UNWTO encourages the implementation of the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism, to maximize tourism’s socio-economic contribution while minimizing its possible negative impacts, and is committed to promoting tourism as an instrument in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), geared towards reducing poverty and fostering sustainable development worldwide. The importance of digital technologies in tourism, providing opportunities for innovation and preparing the sector for the future of work, was at the centre of World Tourism Day 2018, celebrated in Budapest, Hungary (27 September 2018).
Our students' success at the ITC 2018 competition

In August 2018, our undergraduate students Ivana Jurišić and Srđan Ćurčić (MOR) won the 3rd place in the competition for solving companies' business cases, of municipalities and cities in the field of tourism, Istrian Tourism Competition (ITC) organized by the Startup Association. The competition was attended by students under the age of 30 from different orientations from all business schools, polytechnics and universities in Croatia.
The Round table "Automoto sport and tourism"

MK Kvarner, together with the co-organizers of Tourist Board (TB) Kvarner and the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, organized a round table discussion on "Auto moto sport and tourism" as part of the 40th anniversary of the Automotodrom Grobnik 's existence. The round table was held under the honorary auspices of the President of the Republic of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar Kitarović, and sponsorships of the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Croatia and the Croatian Motorcycle Association.
